Fire Management
In 2008, FROHG members volunteered to lead the Haenertsburg Village Fire Team which assists the foresters with fires near or in the village.
The fire team has access to a "bakkie sakkie" and is receiving training in fire control. Fire is a key environmental factor in this area, for both Grasslands and plantations, and the proper management thereof requires constant communication between fire towers, plantation managers and Haenertsburg Village.
