Friends of the Haenertsburg Grasslands - FROHG - is a volunteer group dedicated to the conservation of the unique grasslands and related ecosystems near Haenertsburg, Limpopo Province.
FROHG is a registered member of the Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa (WESSA), which operates a network of Friends Groups around the country
FROHG finalised its constitution in August 2007 and was officially launched on 24 September 2007
FROHG arose from a small group of volunteers called HEMAG - Haenertsburg Environmental Monitoring and Action group. This informal grouping has agreed to give way to FROHG as it has the benefits of a formal constitution, and the backing and fund-raising experience of WESSA.
The Haenertsburg Grasslands are situated in the lovely Magoebaskloof region - next time you are in the area, why not stop at Haenertsburg and check out our wonderful grasslands and forests. You will find information on hiking trails and events at the tourist office in Haenertsburg, and at most B&Bs.
