Friends of the Haenertsburg Grasslands - FroHG - is a volunteer group dedicated to the conservation of the unique grasslands and related ecosystems near Haenertsburg, Limpopo Province. FroHG is a registered non-profit organisation (209-267 NPO) and relies on support from its members, sponsors and the public to carry out its mission of conserving one of South Africa's most threatened ecosystems.
FroHG arose from a small group of volunteers called HEMAG - Haenertsburg Environmental Monitoring and Action group. This informal grouping has agreed to give way to FroHG as it has the benefits of a formal constitution.
FroHG finalised its constitution in August 2007 and was officially launched on 24 September 2007.
The constitution was amended in 2015.
FroHG cooperates with the Botanical Society, the Custodians of Rare and Endangered Wildflowers (CREW) and the Tzaneen Eco Club.
